Big Dave’s Fishing Adventures along the Oregon coast offers guided fishing trips for Steelhead and Salmon. We have trips for the most avid angler to the beginner. Big Dave mainly fishes the Wilson, Kilchis and Trask Rivers outside of Tillamook, Oregon. Enjoy either Fall Chinook fishing (October-December) or Winter Steelhead fishing (December-March) along some of Oregon’s most famous fisheries.

If you are after the tackle busting Chinook Salmon, they are no joke. These fish can average 25-30 lb. with the occasional 50 lb. hog. I do all of my Fall Chinook fishing out of my 18 foot ClackaCraft Max drift boat which gives us a lot of room to land these gnarley Nookies. Pulling plugs, back bouncing eggs, bobber fishing and drift fishing are all productive methods I use for catching Chinook. Experienced or novice, Big Dave can explain any technique or strategy needed to catch that trophy fish of a lifetime.

Steelhead are considered by some to be the crème de la crème of Oregon’s coastal rivers. There is nothing quite like side drifting for Steelies with your bait drifting perfectly thru the holes, just waiting for your rod to load up. We call this technique the “Blue Faced Drift” because you will be holding your breath with the anticipation of catching the river’s royalty, the mighty Steelhead. Pulling Tad Pollie’s, Wiggle Warts along with bobber and jig fishing are all techniques we use to catch these acrobatic fish. These Steelhead can average 8-13 lb. with the occasional 20+lb. fish.

All of our trips are fully guided in drift boats, using Lamiglas rods. We provide all Salmon/Steelhead tackle along with a fisherman’s size lunch (beverages included).
